So... life is crazy. If at all possible, when buying a house avoid foreclosures. The price may look good, but it's SO aggravating! Anyways, life's good. Working full-time at my job, got another job as a teacher's assistant, and planning a wedding. We're honeymooning in Peru, just bought the tickets, and spending time in Hawaii this December.

That's it in a nutshell. Stay tuned next ~June/July for pictures from Macchu Picchu, et al.

Is it here yet? I take my last final tomorrow night, and then I can get out and do the things I want: like go for a run before work, bike to work, spend my weekends doing fun things like hiking.

Is the semester over yet?

Expect some pictures this weekend if I find some shots worthy of posting. I don't want to bore you.

So I just had a screw and a pin put in my right wrist scaphoid bone. I also had a bone graft from my iliac crest.

So I'm pretty much laid up right now. Typing one handed is not all that glamorous, but it works.

I'll be posting lots of pictures from my recent trip to Albuquerque soon so be watching!

Cello?

I know that a few of you reading this are in my hometown. Do you know anyone that plays cello? I am desperately wanting to find someone who plays cello and wants to jam. I play guitar, mandolin, and piano but all in experimental/acoustic sounds different from what you hear on the radio. I love the cello, and have a good idea of the sound I want.

If you know anyone could you possibly send them my e-mail address? ryeager@gci.net
I would really appreciate it.

Chilkoot 2007

So in 2003 I made an amazing trip down to southeast Alaska. I hiked the Chilkoot Trail: the famous, perhaps even infamous, trail that was taken by a majority of the stampeders on their way to the Yukon delta to reach the gold fields on the Klondike River.

The trail stills has many remains of the gear they brought and left. The historicity of the entire area is phenomenal, there is still so much to see.

I made a promise then that I would return. Four years later I saw fruition of such.

I and a friend traveled down last weekend to hike said trail in 5 days, a total of 33mi (53.2km).
However due to the inclement weather on the day we made it to the summit (the US and Canadian border) we pushed further to get to the log cabin with a woodstove. That day we hiked a total of 14mi (22.6km) including a 2000ft (610m) ascension and then a 1000ft (305m) descension with 65lbs (30kg) on our backs.

Upon reaching the end we caught the train back into Skagway, AK.

I took plenty of photos (+500) but have narrowed out my "professional" photos to post here. I came up with 27. I hope you enjoy.
